House Joint Resolution 004

Criminalizing Cannabis Advertising

House Joint Resolution 004

Idaho House Joint Memorial 4 puts a proposed amendment to the Idaho Constitution up for a vote in Idaho’s November 2026 general election.

If a majority of voters pass the amendment, Idaho voters will no longer have the power to vote on whether or not they want to legalize marijuana through a citizen’s ballot initiative.

Criminalizing Cannabis Advertising

Idaho House Bill 271 quickly, and quietly, passed both the house and the senate; and was signed into law by Governor Brad Little on April 1st, 2025 - criminalizing the advertising of "illegal drugs" in Idaho.

help GROW hempfest!

Due to the new HB271 advertising law, we are no longer able to allow out-of-state legal dispensaries to be vendors or sponsors at Hempfest - even though their product is legal for everyone 21+ in their location over the border.

We know this was an intentional attack on the movement, and our event, in an effort to strategically reduce funding & support by restricting freedom of speech for our Cannabis industry sponsors - perhaps in the hopes that maybe we will all just give up & go away without the dispensary money.

But we aren't going anywhere... this is OUR home, too. We believe in the future Cannabis can provide Idahoans and will continue to provide real Cannabis education to our community.

But we need YOUR help to grow Hempfest for the future!
